History of the Centre

In 1992, the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR),  P.R.China,  established an institution, the Jianghe Water Development Center, with the main business scope of consultation service in water & hydropower sector.

In 1997, MWR transferred the Jianghe Water Development Center from an institution to a state owned enterprise under the MWR, with registration capital RMB 1 Million.     

The center developed the business to the other sectors, just like environment, social development, infrastructures, rural development and other areas.  

In 1998, the Jianghe Water Development Center was incorporated into China Water Investment Corporation, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary.  

In 2001, the Center was reshuffled to a limited company through introduction of other shareholders, with RMB 10 million Yuan of registration capital. The center has become the consulting company in the all sectors.

Certification

The Center has been granted the Class A consultation certificate by the National Development and Reform Committee, P.R.China.

The Center has been certified to meet the Quality Management System Standards of ISO9001.

Internal Organization

The internal organisation of Jianghe has been created in order to provide the Company with the ability to provide a comprehensive project support function and technical back up to staff in the field, to respond rapidly to development opportunities, and to produce competent bids in response to invitations to tender. Responsive technical and logistical backup from headquarters is an essential component of the successful completion of an assignment, whether it is a planning or evaluation mission, or long term project implementation. A senior member of the Company, with skills and experience appropriate to the tasks in hand, is assigned as Project Director to each project undertaken by Jianghe.

The internal organization of Jianghe is illustrated below. The company operates with the three business departments together with general office and project support functions based in the head office.

The Company has full time staff responsible for the logistical support and management of ongoing short and long term contracts in terms of handling the mobilization of staff (travel, visas, etc.), the provision of professional and technical support to consultants and dealing with all communications relating to assignments.

Staff  Resources

Jianghe employs professional consultants in most fields of nature resources, ecological, biodiversity, environment, hydropower, electricity, rural and social development, land use and soils, water resources, infrastructures, power, agronomy, sector planning, finance and credit, privatisation, irrigation, mechanisation, settlement economics, tourism, institutions and sociology. A substantial cadre of associate consultants is registered with the Company and available to provide additional subject matter coverage, giving us the ability to staff peak demand periods in the project cycle with skilled personnel. Jianghe also has close working relationships with several leading universities and institutes that are active in the development field.
